Welcome to Full Stride Running!
I’m glad you’re here.
If you’re a runner over age 40 who wants to improve your performance, stay healthy, and continue enjoying running for years to come, you’re in the right place.
I’m a lifelong runner and coach who believes that getting older doesn’t mean giving up on your running goals. It does, however, mean being a little smarter about how you train.
You don’t need to train like an elite athlete, run yourself into the ground, or organize your entire life around running to get better.
You need a sustainable approach that balances training, recovery, and everything else going on in your life.
That’s what Full Stride Running is all about.
First, a Quick Introduction
1. Check Out My Free Running Articles
Learn to train smarter, not just harder.
One of the best places to start is with my free articles on Substack.
I regularly share practical training advice drawn from decades of running experience, coaching, and research.
Some of the topics you’ll find include:
How to structure an effective training week
The benefits of easy running
How to avoid overtraining and common training mistakes
Quality workouts that actually improve performance
Recovery and strength training for masters runners
Race preparation, pacing, and the mental side of running
My goal is to help you understand not just what to do in training, but why you’re doing it.
You can read all my articles for free, and subscribe to receive new ones directly in your inbox.
2. Book a Free 30-Minute Coaching Consultation
Let’s talk about your running!
Not sure whether your current training is helping you improve?
Wondering if you’re running too hard, not recovering enough, or missing something important?
I’d love to help.
I’m offering a free 30-minute, one-on-one coaching consultation where we can review your current training and discuss your running goals.
Before our conversation, you’ll answer a few questions about your running background, recent training, and what you’d like to achieve.
During our call, we’ll look at:
Your current training schedule
Your goals and upcoming races
What’s working well
Potential areas for improvement
Practical changes you can make right away
You’ll come away with a clearer idea of how to structure your training and what you can do to become a better runner.
There’s no obligation to purchase coaching or join anything. Just a conversation about running and how I can help.
3. Join the Full Stride Running Club
Better running through coaching, community, and shared experience.
Running may be an individual sport, but that doesn’t mean you have to figure everything out on your own.
The Full Stride Running Club is my online community hosted on Skool, designed for recreational runners over 40 who want to improve their running with the support of a coach and other runners.
Inside the club, you’ll find:
Monday Check-In and Coaching Call
We start the week by sharing our plans and goals. Every Monday evening at 8 PM Eastern, I host a coaching session covering training topics and answering members’ questions. Recordings are available if you can’t attend live.
Workout Wednesday
A weekly training tip, workout idea, or coaching lesson to help you get more from your running.
Friday Fun
A lighter end to the week with running facts, questions, and discussions.
A Supportive Running Community
Share your progress, ask questions, celebrate achievements, and connect with other runners who understand the challenges and rewards of running after 40.
My vision is to create a welcoming place where runners can learn from one another, stay motivated, and benefit from regular coaching without the cost of a fully individualized program.
Founding Member Offer: Join before October 31, 2026, and receive free lifetime access to the club. After that date, new memberships will be paid.
4. Work With Me One-on-One
Personalized coaching for your goals, your abilities, and your life.
If you’re looking for a more individualized approach, I also offer personal running coaching.
No two runners are exactly alike. Your experience, goals, available time, strengths, and weaknesses all matter.
Rather than handing you a generic training plan, I’ll work with you to develop a program that fits your circumstances.
My individual coaching includes:
A personalized training schedule, updated weekly
Review of your completed training and regular feedback
Adjustments based on your progress, recovery, and life commitments
A monthly video coaching call to discuss your overall program
Guidance on training intensity, workouts, race preparation, and recovery
Whether you’re preparing for a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon, the objective is the same: help you become the best runner you can be while keeping your training sustainable.
Individual Coaching: $99 CAD per month.
If you’re interested but not sure whether it’s right for you, I’d suggest starting with the free 30-minute consultation. We can discuss your goals and decide whether working together makes sense.
If you want to learn more about individualized coaching, or have any other questions, you can message me directly.
My Coaching Philosophy
After decades of running, I’ve come to believe that successful training doesn’t need to be complicated.
My approach is built around five principles:
1. Sustainable Training: Consistency over months and years matters more than any single workout.
2. Every Workout Has a Purpose: Understand what you’re trying to accomplish each time you head out the door.
3. Regular Racing: Racing provides motivation, feedback, and an opportunity to put your training into practice.
4. Multi-Pace Training: Develop the different abilities you need by training at a variety of appropriate paces.
5. Individualized, Holistic Coaching: Your training needs to fit your life, not the other way around.
You can still chase personal bests after 40. You can still improve. And you can certainly continue enjoying the sport for decades to come.
The key is learning to train smarter.
