Whether you’re chasing a new personal best, getting back into running, or simply looking to stay fit and healthy as you get older, Full Stride Running is here to help you become a better runner.
I believe that good training doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need to run yourself into the ground, follow an overly complicated schedule, or organize your entire life around running.
You need a sensible plan, consistency, and the confidence that what you’re doing is moving you in the right direction.
That’s what Full Stride Running is all about.
First, a Quick Introduction
Hi, I’m Dan. Let’s Talk Running.
I’ve been running and racing for more than 40 years, from middle-distance track races to marathons, and I’ve experienced just about every stage of a runner’s journey.
I’ve chased personal bests, dealt with injuries and setbacks, and learned how training needs to change as we get older.
I’m also a certified Jack Daniels VDOT running coach.
My coaching philosophy is pretty straightforward:
Consistency beats occasional heroic workouts.
Training should fit your life, not the other way around.
Hard training has its place, but recovery is just as important.
Every runner is different, and their training should reflect that.
Running should be something you enjoy for years to come.
I created Full Stride Running to share what I’ve learned and help other runners train smarter, improve their performance, and enjoy the process.

Let’s Keep Running Better, for Longer
I still believe there’s something special about working toward a running goal, whether that’s a faster 5K, finishing your first race, or simply being able to head out for a run and feel good doing it.
And I believe that with the right approach, we can keep enjoying those experiences well into our masters years and beyond.
That’s why I started Full Stride Running.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to help.
Cheers,
Dan.

Great welcome post, Dan. Running fast after 40 with smarter, sustainable training is a message plenty of busy leaders and educators need to hear, too. Glad to be along for the journey.
