I’ve been working on something over the past few months that I’m excited to finally share.
It’s called the Full Stride Running Club, and I’d like to invite you to become one of its founding members.
If you’ve been following Full Stride Running for a while, you probably know my philosophy on running and training.
I believe runners can continue to run fast well into their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.
But I also believe that many recreational runners make training far more complicated and demanding than it needs to be.
Too much intensity. Not enough recovery. Following training programs designed for somebody else. Trying to squeeze running into an already busy life.
After more than 40 years as a runner, I’ve made many of those mistakes myself.
And that’s really why I created Full Stride Running.
To help runners over 40 run fast with smarter, sustainable training that fits their lives.
Introducing the Full Stride Running Club
The Full Stride Running Club is a new online community hosted on Skool, designed for recreational runners who still care about performance but want a more sustainable approach to training.
Whether you’re trying to break 25 minutes for 5K, qualify for Boston, or simply see what you’re capable of as a masters runner, I’d like this to become a place where we can learn from each other, share ideas, and become better runners.
Here’s what I’m planning.
Weekly Live Coaching Calls
Every Monday, we’ll get together online to talk about running.
Bring your questions about training, workouts, racing, recovery, or whatever else is on your mind.
We’ll also look at training plans, discuss common mistakes, and explore ways to make your training more effective.
Our first coaching call will be Monday, October 19.
The Full Stride Classroom
I’ve already been building a collection of training resources, including my Marathon Academy.
The Classroom covers topics such as structuring your training, quality workouts, marathon preparation, and other aspects of becoming a better runner.
I’ll continue adding resources based on what members actually want to learn.
Weekly Training Challenges
Each week, I’ll introduce a simple challenge designed to help you improve some aspect of your running.
These won’t necessarily be about running faster or farther.
Sometimes the challenge might be to slow down your easy runs, evaluate your training week, or work on consistency.
The idea is to make small improvements that add up over time.
Training Discussions and Community Support
One of the things I enjoy most about running is talking about running!
We’ll have discussion areas where members can ask questions, share their training, discuss upcoming races, and learn from each other’s experiences.
I’ll be actively involved, offering feedback and advice wherever I can.
Marathon Training Groups
As the community grows, I’d also like to introduce training groups for major marathons such as Boston, New York, Chicago and Toronto.
Members preparing for the same race can share their progress, discuss training, and support each other throughout their preparation.
This is something we’ll develop as membership grows.
An Invitation to Become a Founding Member
Eventually, Full Stride Running Club will become a paid membership community.
But before that happens, I’d like to invite my current Substack subscribers to help me get it started.
If you join by October 31, 2026, you’ll receive free lifetime access to the Full Stride Running Club.
No monthly fees. No future subscription charges.
As long as you remain a member, your access will remain free, even after the community becomes paid for new members.
Why am I doing this?
Because I’d rather start with a small group of enthusiastic runners who want to participate than launch an empty community and hope people show up.
I’d love your feedback on what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to see added.
And hopefully, you’ll find some useful information, make a few running friends, and get some ideas that help you improve your own training.
Let’s Get Started!
Our first live coaching call is scheduled for Monday, October 19, and I’d love to see you there.
There’s no obligation to attend every call or participate in every discussion.
Join in whenever you can.
If you’re interested, just click the link below and become one of our founding members.
